With just two weeks to go in the regular season, three Canadians are confirmed to advance to the FedEx Cup playoffs.
According to Data Golf, Sudarshan Yellamaraju, Corey Conners and Nick Taylor have earned spots in the first playoff event, the FedEx St. Jude Championship in Memphis starting Aug. 13. Conners was the only Canadian to move up in the ranking, improving two spots to 56th. He tied for 39th at the 3M Open.
They are playing to try and improve their positions with the top 50 moving on to the second event, the BMW Championship in St. Louis, and the top 30 after that event getting a ticket to the Tour Championship in Atlanta. Being in the top 50 also means entry into all the signature events for 2027.
Six other Canadians are on the outside hoping to make a move in the remaining two events, the first of which is being held this week in Detroit at the Rocket Classic.
Yellamaraju, Conners and Taylor will tee it up in the Motor City along with fellow Canucks A.J. Ewart, Mackenzie Hughes, Taylor Pendrith and Adam Svensson. Two others, Ben Silverman and Adam Hadwin are not in the field.
In addition to trying to make the FedEx Cup playoffs, the Canadian contingent is fighting to retain playing privileges for 2027. Finishing in the top 100 in the FedEx Cup standings gives a player full tour membership and entry into all standard tournaments next year. From 101 to 125 gives a golfer conditional status.
