Canadian Brooke Henderson was unable to pick up any ground on moving day at the AIG Women’s Open Saturday, shooting a 1-over 72.
The Smiths Falls, Ont. native sat 10 shots back of leader Yealimi Noh in a tie for 27th at the conclusion of the third round. She was the lone Canadian to make the cut this weekend at Royal Lytham & St. Annes in Lancashire, England.
Henderson got off to a strong start in round three, making birdie on two of her first six holes to get to 2-under for the day. But a bogey on the Par 5 seventh halted her momentum and a double bogey on the 18th hole put a damper on an otherwise steady round.
It was her third consecutive 1-over 72 round this week at the year’s final Major.
Henderson, 28, is a 14-time LPGA Tour winner and a two-time Major champion (2016 PGA, 2022 Evian). She had missed the cut at three Opens in a row coming into this year’s tournament.
Seventeen-year-old Anna Huang of Vancouver was also in the field this week but was unable to make the weekend after rounds of 4-over and 5-over, respectively.
