Canadian Brooke Henderson shot a 1-over 72 Sunday in her final round at the AIG Women’s Open and will finish the tournament well off the lead.
The round was Henderson’s fourth straight 1-over 72 at Royal Lytham & St. Annes this week. She finished 4-over for the week and sat in a tie for 29th behind winner Shiho Kuwaki (5-under), who took home the title in a playoff.
Henderson made three bogeys alongside two birdies Sunday, playing the front-nine 1-over and the back even-par.
The Smiths Falls, Ont., native will close out her Major championship season having made the cut at all five tournaments, finishing as high as solo second at the Evian Championship last month. Henderson was also tied for third at the Women’s PGA Championship in June.
Henderson came into the week as the No. 11 player in the world according to the Rolex Rankings. She is a two-time Major winner (2016 PGA, 2022 Evian) and 14-time LPGA Tour winner.
Seventeen-year-old Anna Huang of Vancouver was the second Canadian in the field for this weekend’s AIG Women’s Open but did not make the cut after rounds of 4-over and 5-over, respectively.
