40-year-old captain Roman Cervenka scored a controversial go-ahead goal midway through the third period to lift Czechia to a thrilling win over Slovakia at the men's World Hockey Championship. The Czechs improved to 14-1-3 all time against Slovakia, including a 4-0 record in the last four games.

WHC: United States 2, Latvia 4

Goalie Kristers Gudlevskis shone with 45 saves as Latvia outlasted the United States at the men's World Hockey Championship. Sandis Vilmanis scored two empty-netters and added an assist in the third period as the Americans failed to come back and were jumped by Latvia in the standings.

Patrick Russell scored twice, Mikkel Aagaard picked up four points, and Mads Sogaard recorded a 13-save shutout to lead Denmark past Slovenia for their first win at this year's men's World Hockey Championship.

Denton Mateychuk, Dylan Cozens and Emmitt Finnie all found the back of the net as Canada got goals in each period to take down Slovenia and remain undefeated at the men's World Hockey Championship. Jet Greaves had his shutout bid broken with 1:05 remaining in regulation.

Ville Heinola scored twice and Henri Jokiharju had a goal and an assist as Finland pushed its record to a perfect 5-0 at the men's World Hockey Championship with a comfortable victory over newly promoted Great Britain.

WHC: Italy 0, Sweden 3

Projected top five pick Ivar Stenberg scored twice and fellow 18-year-old Viggo Bjorck had a pair of assists as Sweden shutout Italy for a much-needed win. The Swedish teen sensations have 10 points (three goals, seven assists)s at the men's World Hockey Championship.
