The Toronto Blue Jays have acquired infielder Lenyn Sosa from the Chicago White Sox in exchange for outfielder Jordan Rich and a player to be named later or cash considerations, it was announced Monday afternoon.
To make room on the club’s 40-player roster, right-hander Shane Bieber has been transferred to the 60-day injured list. According to MLB.com’s Keegan Matheson, there is no change in Bieber’s rehab or status.

Shane Bieber transferred to 60-day to make room (no change to his rehab or status).
Sosa, 26, has appeared in 12 games with the White Sox this season, slashing .212/.212/.303 with three RBI.
He was solid in 140 games last year, hitting 22 home runs and driving in 75 with a .727 OPS.
A native of Puerto Ordaz, Venezuela, Sosa plays primarily second and third base. He is a veteran of five MLB seasons, all with the White Sox, and is a lifetime .245 hitter with 37 career home runs.
Sosa made his big-league debut in June of 2022 in a game against the Baltimore Orioles.
The Blue Jays (6-9) are off Monday and will begin a nine-game road trip in Milwaukee Tuesday evening against the Brewers.
