The Toronto Blue Jays have activated right-hander Trey Yesavage from the injured list and confirmed he will start Monday’s game in Baltimore against the Orioles.
Right-hander Spencer Arrighetti was optioned to the Spring Complex and left-hander Joe Mantiply was designated for assignment. Righty Chad Dallas was also added to the Blue Jays’ active roster for Monday’s game.
Yesavage makes his return after missing the last six weeks with left knee inflammation. He last pitched on Aug. 4 and had surgery to repair a torn meniscus. He pitched in a rehab game with the Triple-A Buffalo Bisons last week and lasted just 0.2 innings, but came out of it feeling healthy, which manager John Schneider later told reporters was what the team was looking for with regards to bringing him back.
The 23-year-old is 5-5 with a 3.65 ERA and 91 strikeouts in 93.2 innings pitched this season, his second as a big-leaguer.
Arrighetti was acquired from the Houston Astros at the trade deadline in exchange for outfielder Daulton Varsho. He has struggled in seven appearances with the Jays, going 2-4 with a 6.35 ERA and 19 strikeouts in 22.2 innings pitched. He allowed two earned runs in 2.1 innings in Sunday’s 7-2 win in Arlington against the Rangers.
Dallas, 26, has a 6.10 ERA in four games with the Jays this season. Mantiply has a 3.33 ERA in 25 outings with Toronto in 2026.
The Blue Jays enter play Monday three games back of the final American League wild-card spot with six games remaining in the season.
