A 10-1 win by the Toronto Blue Jays over the New York Yankees in Game 1 of the American League Division Series has seen their odds shift from underdogs to favourites to advance.

ALDS: Yankees 1, Blue Jays 10 The Blue Jays opened an early lead with solo homers from Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Alejandro Kirk, and piled on late to cruise to a lopsided victory over the Yankees in the ALDS opener. TOR leads series 1-0.

Despite entering the playoffs with the best record in the American League, Toronto was +132 to win its ALDS series against the Yankees on FanDuel, a number that came with an implied probability of 43.10 per cent.

Now, Toronto is the favourite to advance at -150 and currently has the best odds among AL teams to win the World Series at +550.

Since the playoff format was changed in 2022, the higher seed in the ALDS has won five of the six series, with the lone upset coming via a Texas Rangers sweep over the top-seeded Baltimore Orioles. The other two seasons, the top seed in the AL went to the World Series.
