The Toronto Blue Jays have placed starter jameson Taillon on the 15-day injured list due to right forearm tendinitis.
The club also recalled righty Chase Lee in a corresponding move.
Taillon, 34, left Monday’s start against the Boston Red Sox after the top half of the fourth with what the team later called “right forearm discomfort”.
Taillon was acquired from the Chicago Cubs on Aug. 2 for a player to be named later.
In two starts with the Blue Jays, the veteran righty had a 3.38 ERA and 1.50 WHIP while recording seven strikeouts over 8.0 innings.
Born to Canadian parents in Lakeland, Fla. Taillon has made 17 starts this season between the Cubs and Blue Jays, carrying a 5.96 earned run average and a 1.39 WHIP, collecting 72 strikeouts to 28 walks across 80 innings.
