The Toronto Blue Jays have called up relief pitchers Brendon Little and Lazaro Estrada from Triple-A Buffalo, it was announced Saturday afternoon.
Relievers Adam Macko and CJ Van Eyk have been optioned to Triple-A Buffalo as corresponding moves.
Little has spent the majority of the season in Triple-A after struggling mightily during his time with the big club. In six appearances, Little has allowed 14 earned runs in 4.2 innings pitched (27.00 ERA) with a WHIP of 3.85.
However, it’s been a different story this season with the Bisons. Little has a 2.53 ERA in 30 appearances with 46 strikeouts in 32.0 innings pitched.
Little had a 3.03 ERA in 79 games with the Blue Jays last season but was far less effective in the playoffs with a mark of 11.25 in six appearances.
Estrada, 27, has a 2.84 ERA in two appearances this season.
The Blue Jays enter Saturday’s game against the Chicago White Sox in Toronto seven games under .500 at 45-52, three and a half games back of the final American League wild-card spot.
