The Toronto Blue Jays have recalled right-handed pitcher Chad Dallas from Triple-A Buffalo. He will be active for Tuesday night’s game against the San Francisco Giants.
Dallas was previously recalled by the Blue Jays in June and made one appearance for the team on June 4 against the Atlanta Braves. He picked up the win in his MLB debut after pitching 3.2 innings while giving up one run on two hits with two strikeouts. The Blue Jays won the game 7-2.
In a corresponding move announced on Tuesday, the Blue Jays optioned outfielder Yohendrick Piñango to Triple-A.
It’s the third time in 2026 that Piñango has been optioned to Buffalo. He was first called up at the end of April when right-fielder Nathan Lukes was placed on the IL with a hamstring strain.
Piñango is slashing .267/.313/.413 with five home runs and 20 RBIs in 51 games with the Blue Jays.
The move comes one day after the Blue Jays activated designated hitter George Springer from the family medical emergency list and placed relief pitcher Braydon Fisher on the bereavement list.
Springer had originally been placed on the paternity list on July 1. He was moved to the family emergency medical list once his paternity leave expired to give him extra time with his family.
The Blue Jays played with 14 position players and 12 pitchers in Monday’s 10-1 loss in their series opener against the Giants.
Toronto has lost three straight and have score just one run in that span. They are tied with the Baltimore Orioles for third in the AL East with a 42-49 record.
The Blue Jays sit 11.5 games back of the Tampa Bay Rays for the lead in the AL East and 3.5 games back of the Texas Rangers for the final AL Wild Card spot.
Spencer Miles will start for the Blue Jays on Tuesday against the Giants.
