The Toronto Blue have reinstated LHP Brendon Little from the paternity list and sent down LHP Ricky Tiedemann in a corresponding move, the team announced Sunday.
Little was placed on the paternity list on Thursday.
The 30-year-old reliever has a 9.98 ERA in 16 games with the Blue Jays this season. After a disastrous start to the season in which Little allowed 14 earned runs in six games (4.2 innings pitched), he was sent down to the minors. Since being recalled in July, Little has allowed just three earned runs in 10.2 innings over 10 appearances.
Tiedemann made his MLB debut in Saturday’s 4-1 victory over the New York Yankees. The big lefty allowed one earned run over 1.2 innings of work.
The 23-year-old lefty is the No. 11 prospect in the Blue Jays’ system, per MLB Pipeline. He once ranked as the top prospect in the system entering the 2024 system, but injuries have slowed his development over the past two seasons.
The Blue Jays (61-64) enter Sunday’s series finale looking for a sweep against the New York Yankees. They’ve won 12 of their past 17 games to surge into the wild-card conversation in the American League.
