Free-agent outfielder Max Kepler has been suspended for 80 games by Major League Baseball after a positive test for Epitrenbolone, a performance-enhancing substance.
Kepler, 32, spent last season with the Philadelphia Phillies after spending the first 10 seasons of his career with the Minnesota Twins.
A native of Berlin, Kepler appeared in 127 games in 2025, batting .216 with 90 hits, 18 home runs, 52 runs batted in and an OPS of .691.
Epitrenbolone is a form of trenbolone, an anabolic steroid.
Kepler played 2025 on a one-year, $10 million deal.
For his career, Kepler is a .235 hitter with 983 hits, 179 home runs, 560 runs batted in and a .741 OPS over 1,199 games.
