Toronto Blue Jays right-hander Kevin Gausman turned in yet another quality postseason outing Friday night in Game 5, holding the Seattle Mariners to just one run over 5.2 innings.

Gausman struck out four and surrendered three hits along with three walks as he departed up 2-1 in the sixth inning.

The 34-year-old left with a runner on first base after a two-out walk to Randy Arozarena, but reliever Louis Varland was able to keep the Mariners off the board the rest of the inning.

It’s the third straight outing Gausman has come out with two outs in the fifth having pitched effectively. In Game 1 of the American League Division Series against the New York Yankees on Oct. 4, he allowed one run on just four hits. In Game 1 of the ALCS against the Mariners last Sunday, Gausman surrendered only three hits and two earned runs.

Friday’s outing lowered his postseason ERA this year to 2.12, having allowed just four earned runs in 17.0 innings over three stars.

Gausman was 10-11 with a 3.59 ERA in 32 starts during the regular season.

Game 6 of the ALCS will go Sunday evening in Toronto and if necessary, Game 7 will be played Monday night.
