Jays prospect Stanifer promoted to Triple-A Buffalo

Gage Stanifer is one step closer to Major League Baseball.

The righty, the Toronto Blue Jays’ No. 10 prospect according to MLB Pipeline, was promoted to Triple-A Buffalo on Tuesday.

Stanifer, 22, was a 19th-round pick by the Jays in the 2022 MLB Amateur Draft. A native of Indianapolis, Stanifer is in his fourth pro season. He had been with the Double-A New Hampshire Fisher Cats.

In 28 appearances this season, 19 of them starts, Stanifer was 6-8 with an earned run average of 4.82 and a 1.546 WHIP in 97.0 innings pitched. He struck out 133 batters and walked 64, giving him an impressive 12.3 SO9.

The Bisons open a six-game series with the Charlotte Knights, the Triple-A affiliate of the Chicago White Sox, on Tuesday night.
