Luis Robert Jr. is back on the shelf.

The New York Mets announced Thursday that the outfielder had been placed on the injured list with lumbar spine disc herniation. The move is retroactive to Monday.

The team also announced righty reliever Carl Edwards Jr. had been designated for assignment while infielder Eric Wagaman and righty Austin Warren had been recalled from the Triple-A Syracuse Mets.

Robert, 28, is in his first season in Queens after an offseason deal with the Chicago White Sox with whom he spent his first six big league seasons. Through 24 games, Robert was batting .224 with 19 hits, two home runs, eight runs batted in and an OPS of .656.

Injuries have been a hallmark of Robert’s career with the Ciego de Avila, Cuba native missing 50-plus games in both 2024 and 2025.

The Mets (10-20) are last in the National League East and losers of 16 of their last 19 contests. They conclude a three-game series with the Washington Nationals (14-17) later on Thursday.
