Nick Martinez will be on the bump on Friday night in Wisconsin.

Tampa Bay Rays manager Kevin Cash confirmed on Thursday that the 36-year-old righty will get the start in Game 1 of the World Series against the Milwaukee Brewers.

Flame-throwing righty Jacob Misiorowski starts for the home team.

Martinez will be making his third start of the postseason. He last featured in Game 4 of the American League Championship Series against the Cleveland Guardians. In 5.1 innings of work, Martinez gave up one run on two hits with three strikeouts and two walks and earned the win in a 7-3 win.

A native of Miami, Martinez was an All-Star for the first time in his career in 2026. In 31 starts, he was 15-6 with a 3.10 earned run average and WHIP of 1.094 over 180.0 innings pitched. He struck out 109 batters and walked 26.

Both the Rays and Brewers are seeking their respective franchise’s first-ever championship.
