Crochet, 26, starred in his first season for the BoSox in 2025. In 32 starts, Crochet was 18-5 with an earned run average of 2.59 and a 1.028 WHIP over a league-leading 205.1 innings pitched. He struck out an American League-best 255 batters and walked 46. Crochet’s strong season was recognized with a runner-up finish for the AL Cy Young Award behind the Detroit Tigers’ Tarik Skubal.
A native of Ocean Springs, MS, Crochet was the 11th overall selection of the 2020 MLB Amateur Draft out of Tennessee by the Chicago White Sox, with whom he spent the first four seasons of his career.
A two-time All-Star, Crochet anchors a formidable Red Sox rotation that also includes new additions Ranger Suarez, Sonny Gray and Johan Oviedo and Brayan Bello.
The Red Sox, third-place finishers in the AL East in 2025, open their Grapefruit League schedule on Feb. 21 against the Minnesota Twins in South Fort Myers, FL before visiting the Cincinnati Reds to open their 2026 campaign on Mar. 26.
