Derek Law is headed to the desert.

FanSided’s Robert Murray reports the veteran reliever has agreed to a minor-league deal with the Arizona Diamondbacks with an invite to spring training.

Law, 35, spent the past two seasons with the Washington Nationals, but did not play in 2025, due to forearm inflammation. He eventually underwent season-ending surgery in July.

In 2024, Law was 7-4 in 75 appearances with a 2.60 earned run average and WHIP of 1.178 over 90.0 innings pitched.

A native of Pittsburgh, Law has also spent time with the Cincinnati Reds, Detroit Tigers, Minnesota Twins, Toronto Blue Jays and San Francisco Giants.

For his career, Law is 23-18 with a 3.69 ERA and 1.370 WHIP over 346.0 IP in 322 games across eight seasons.
