Report: Jays promote top lefty prospect King to Double-A

Johnny King is on the move.

MiLB Central’s Chase Ford reports the Toronto Blue Jays are promoting their top lefty prospect to the Double-A New Hampshire Fisher Cats.

King, 20, was originally selected with a third-round pick of the 2024 MLB Amateur Draft. The native of Commerce, MI is in his second professional season and had been with the High-A Vancouver Canadians of the Northwest League.

In 21 starts this season, King was 5-2 with a 3.21 earned run average and 1.381 WHIP over 84.0 innings of work. He struck out 112 batters and walked 50.

According to MLB Pipeline’s most recent update, King is the Blue Jays’ No. 3 overall prospect and No. 2 pitching prospect behind righty Nolan Perry.
