The Philadelphia Phillies have acquired second baseman Luis Arraez and RHP Caleb Kilian from the San Francisco Giants in exchange for a pair of minor-league pitchers in Ramon Marquez and Marty Gair on Monday.
Arraez, 29, was an all-star this season, batting .324 with four home runs and 43 RBI in 105 games with the Giants.
The 5-foot-10, left-handed bat is on a one-year, $12 million contract and is scheduled to become a free agent at the end of the 2026 season.
Originally signed as an international free agent by the Minnesota Twins in 2013, Arraez has split his eight-season career between the Twins, Miami Marlins, San Diego Padres, and Giants.
Arraez is a four-time all-star and three-time batting champion, leading the American League with a batting average in 2022 as a member of the Twins and then followed that up with back-to-back seasons leading the National League with a .354 and .314 batting averages, respectively, with the Marlins and Padres.
He is also a two-time Silver Slugger, winning the award in 2022 as a member of the Twins and 2023 with the Marlins.
