Edouard Julien’s time with the Colorado Rockies is at its end.
The Denver Post’s Kyle Newman reports the Quebec City-born infielder has been designated for assignment by the team.
Julien, 26, was in his first season with the team following an offseason trade from the Minnesota Twins with whom he spent his first three big league seasons. In 88 games this season, Julien was batting .208 with 49 hits, three home runs, 20 runs batted in and a .615 OPS over 236 at-bats. Julien is arbitration-eligible through 2028.
A product of Auburn, Julien has appeared in 355 games over four seasons with the Rockies and Twins. A .226 hitter, Julien has 231 hits, 30 HR, 90 RBI and a .694 OPS in 1,022 at-bats.
In a corresponding move, the Rockies have recalled outfielder Zac Veen, the ninth overall selection of the 2020 MLB Amateur Draft.
