Major League Baseball announced the finalists for the Silver Slugger Award in the American League on Thursday, with three Toronto Blue Jays among the nominees.

First baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr., shortstop Bo Bichette, and George Springer (outfielder and designated hitter) were all named finalists at their respective positions. The Blue Jays are also a finalist for the team award.

Guerrero will be in the running for his third Silver Slugger Award at first base, after taking home the award in 2021 and 2024. The 26-year-old hit .292 with 23 home runs and 84 runs batted in across 156 games this year.

His .848 on-base plus slugging percentage ranked ninth among all AL hitters, trailing only Nick Kurtz (1.002) of the Athletics among first basemen.

Guerrero also finished top-10 in the AL in hits (sixth, 172), runs (eighth, 96), on-base percentage (third, .381) and walks (sixth, 81) - leading AL first basemen in all four categories.

Only two other Blue Jays hitters have been named Silver Slugger at first base in franchise history - Fred McGriff (1989) and Carlos Delgado (1999, 2000, 2003).

Bichette experienced a return to form in 2025, tying a career high with a .311 batting average to go along with 18 home runs and 94 RBI - all major improvements over his 2024 totals, where he hit .225 with four home runs and 31 RBI.

The 27-year-old, who is slated to become a free agent at the end of the season, led the AL in hits (181) and finished second in batting average, OPS (.840) and doubles (44).

Bichette, despite being a two-time All-Star and receiving Most Valuable Player votes on three separate seasons, has never won a Silver Slugger and would be the first in Blue Jays history to win the award at shortstop.

Springer had perhaps the most unexpected season of all the Blue Jays hitters - after his OPS dropped from .814 to .732 and all the way down to .674 over the past three seasons, the veteran finished with a .959 OPS this year, third in the AL.

The 35-year-old is a two-time Silver Slugger winner in the outfield - both with the Houston Astros - but he put together perhaps the best season of his career in his 12th big-league campaign.

Springer established career highs in average (.309) and on-base percentage (.399), and he finished in the top five in the AL in a variety of categories including average, OBP, slugging percentage (.560) and runs scored (106).

Springer would join Dave Winfield (1992), Paul Molitor (1993), Jose Canseco (1998) and Adam Lind (2009) as Silver Slugger Award winners at DH in Blue Jays franchise history, while the list of outfielders includes Lloyd Moseby, George Bell (three times), Jesse Barfield, Joe Carter (twice), Shawn Green, Vernon Wells, Jose Bautista (three times) and Teoscar Hernandez (twice) as Silver Slugger Award winners.

A Silver Slugger for the best hitting team has been awarded since 2022, and a win here would mark the first in franchise history for the Blue Jays. The team led the majors in batting average (.265), and finished behind only the New York Yankees for most runs scored in the American League with 4.92 per game.

The winners of the Silver Slugger Award at every position will be announced on Nov. 6.
