The Milwaukee Brewers announced manager Pat Murphy’s staff for 2026, including the addition of Daniel Vogelbach as one of three hitting coaches.

Vogelbach, 33, spent parts of two seasons with the team in 2020 and 2021.

A native of Orlando, Vogelbach last appeared in the majors in 2024, playing in 31 games for the Toronto Blue Jays. He announced his retirement during spring training of 2025, joining the Pittsburgh Pirates front office.

Making his debut in 2016, Vogelbach went on to appear in 602 contests for the Seattle Mariners, Blue Jays, Brewers, Pirates and New York Mets. He finished his career batting .219 with 361 hits, 81 home runs, 246 runs batted in and an OPS of .745.

Among the other changes to the Brewers staff include the promotion of Eric Thiesen to “lead hitting coach” with Vogelbach and other new hire Guillermo Martinez set to work under him. Jason Lane moves from third-base coach to “offence and strategy coordinator and Jim Henderson was named ”pitching coordinator" after serving as assistant pitching coach last season.

The National League Central champion Brewers open up their Cactus League schedule on Feb. 21 against the Cleveland Guardians before starting their regular season on March 26 at home to the Chicago White Sox.
