Blue Jays acquire 1B Scott; assign to triple-A
The Toronto Blue Jays acquired first baseman/designated hitter Luke Scott from Puebla of the Mexican League and assigned him to triple-A Buffalo on Saturday. Scott, 36, batted .241 with a .326 on-base percentage and .415 slugging percentage for the Tampa Bay Rays in 2013, his last season in the major leagues.

He hit a career-high 27 home runs in 2010 as a member of the Baltimore Orioles.
Scott was drafted by the Cleveland Indians in the ninth round of the 2001 draft.
