MLB: Mets 2, Dodgers 8

Shohei Ohtani pitched one-run ball over six innings and struck out 10 in a game which he did not also bat since 2021, and the Dodgers routed the Mets Wednesday night, sending New York to its eighth straight loss. Dalton Rushing, who replaced Ohtani as designated hitter, hit his first career grand slam in the eighth inning.


MLB: Blue Jays 1, Brewers 2

William Contreras hit the only ball out of the infield during a two-run rally in the eighth inning as the Brewers snapped a six-game skid with a victory over the Blue Jays on Wednesday night. Toronto wasted a brilliant performance from Dylan Cease, who struck out six and allowed two hits and three walks in six shutout innings.


MLB: Angels 4, Yankees 5

Jose Caballero laced a two-run double in the bottom of the ninth inning that gave the Yankees a victory over the Angels, moments after Los Angeles botched an infield popup in a costly misplay Wednesday night. Aaron Judge hit his third homer of the series and Trent Grisham had a two-run single for New York, which won for only the second time in eight games.


MLB: Guardians 3, Cardinals 5

Nathan Church had three hits, Alec Burleson had two RBI and Jordan Walker extended his hitting streak to 11 games as the Cardinals beat the Guardians.


MLB: Diamondbacks 8, Orioles 5 (10)

Adrian Del Castillo hit a two-run home run in the 10th inning and drove in five to lead the Diamondbacks to an win over the Orioles. Arizona went 6-3 on its nine-game trip to the New York Mets, Philadelphia and Baltimore, winning two of three from each.


MLB: Red Sox 9, Twins 5

Trevor Story homered and drove in five runs to lead the Red Sox over the Twins. Connelly Early gave up one run, two hits and two walks with five strikeouts over six innings, the longest of his eight major league starts.


Yesavage allows three runs in rehab start with Triple-A Buffalo

Trey Yesavage continued to work his way back from a shoulder impingement that sent him to the injured list, making a rehab start at Triple-A Buffalo on Wednesday. The 6-foot-4 righty finished his day with 4.1 innings pitched and allowed three earned runs on seven hits and one walk while striking out five.

World Series MVP Yoshinobu Yamamoto and rookie Nolan McLean dueled through seven innings andKyle Tucker singled in the go-ahead run in the eighth as the Dodgers sent the Mets to their seventh straight loss.


MLB: Angels 7, Yankees 1

Mike Trout homered for the third time in two games, combining with Jo Adell and Jorge Soler for three consecutive long balls in a five-pitch span against Ryan Weathers in the first inning, as the Angels routed the Yankees.


MLB: Blue Jays 9, Brewers 7 (10)

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. doubled home the go-ahead run in the 10th inning as the Blue Jays beat Milwaukee, handing the Brewers their sixth consecutive loss. Milwaukee had forced extra innings by scoring twice against Jeff Hoffman in the bottom of the ninth after Toronto got three runs off Trevor Megill in the top half of the inning.


MLB: Angels 10, Yankees 11

Aaron Judge and Trent Grisham both homered twice and the Yankees scored on a game-ending wild pitch in a wild walk-off win over the Angels. New York scored three runs in the ninth inning to overcome Mike Trout’s two homers and five RBIs, and stopped a five-game losing streak.
