Clemson’s all-time leading scorer, Elden Campbell, has died at the age of 57, the school announced on Wednesday.

Campbell went on to a lengthy NBA career and won a championship with the Detroit Pistons in 2004.

A native of Los Angeles, Campbell spent 1986 to 1990 with the Tigers, averaging 15.3 points over 25.3 minutes a night in 123 games. He led the ACC in blocks in three straight years, averaging 3.1 per game in his sophomore season. Campbell was named to All-ACC teams on two occasions.

His hometown Lakers took Campbell with the 27th overall pick of the 1990 NBA Draft. He would go on to appear in 1,044 games over 15 seasons with the Lakers, Charlotte Hornets, Seattle SuperSonics, Pistons and New Jersey Nets. Alongside the likes of Ben Wallace, Rip Hamilton and Chauncey Billups, Campbell won the NBA title in 2004 when Detroit upset the Lakers.

He finished his career averaging 10.3 points, 5.9 boards and 1.5 blocks over 24.7 minutes a night.
