Los Angeles Lakers star Luka Doncic will not play against the LA Clippers on Wednesday at Intuit Dome because of back tightness, the team announced.
Doncic scored 41 points in the Lakers’ 136-129 home loss to the Portland Trail Blazers on Tuesday -- the team’s first loss of the season after a 3-0 start. He leads the league with 36.0 points per game one week into the NBA season.
The Lakers, playing on the second night of a back-to-back, will also be down starter Ziaire Williams due to left foot soreness.
On the other side, the Clippers will be without forward Rui Hachimura, who has left quad soreness. Kobe Sanders will make his first start of the season in Hachimura’s place.
Hachimura scored 16 points against his former team last week in the Lakers’ 125-117 win over the Clippers at Crypto.com Arena.
