Raptors’ Ingram leaves game vs. Hornets with right thumb sprain

Published:

Toronto Raptors forward Brandon Ingram suffered a right thumb sprain during the first half of Wednesday’s game against the Charlotte Hornets and was sidelined for the remainder of the night.

According to TSN’s Kayla Grey, X-rays on Ingram’s right thumb came back negative.

The 28-year-old recorded six points and two assists over 11 minutes of action before departing.

Entering Wednesday’s contest, Ingram was averaging 22.2 points, 6.1 rebounds and 3.7 assists alongside a 47.6 field goal percentage over 37 games this season.

Ingram, acquired from the Hornets ahead of last year’s trade deadline, is in the first season of a three-year, $120 million contract.

Raptors forward Scottie Barnes also left briefly in the second half with a right knee injury, but returned to action late in the fourth quarter.

The Raptors sit fourth in the Eastern Conference with a 23-15 record following Wednesday’s dramatic 97-96 win over the Hornets.
