Toronto Raptors forward Brandon Ingram has won the Eastern Conference’s player of the week award for the final week of the regular season, it was announced Monday.
Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James was the West’s recipient.
Ingram led the Raptors to a 3-1 record last week, helping the team capture their first playoff berth in four seasons and lock down the fifth seed in the Eastern Conference.
The 28-year-old averaged a team-high 25.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game while shooting 57.8 per cent from the field and 53.3 per cent from beyond the three-point line over the four games.
Ingram’s best outing came against the Miami Heat last Thursday, when he scored a season-high 38 points to go along with seven rebounds and seven assists.
Ingram closes out his first season as a Raptor with an average of 21.5 points and 5.6 rebounds per game while shooting 47.7 per cent from the floor.
The Raptors will begin their first-round series against the fourth-seeded Cleveland Cavaliers next Saturday afternoon.
