Raptors’ Barnes, Poeltl questionable vs. Clippers

Published:

The Toronto Raptors could be shorthanded for their back-to-back Monday night in Los Angeles against the Clippers as forward Scottie Barnes (left hip soreness, tightness) and centre Jakob Poeltl (left shoulder bursitis) are each listed as questionable.

Barnes played 36 minutes in Sunday’s 131-125 loss to the Lakers, scoring a team-high 29 points with six rebounds and five assists. Poeltl was a late scratch prior to tip-off.

Barnes, 25, has started the season strong and is averaging 24.8 points along with 6.7 rebounds and 4.5 assists. He’s played in all six of the Raptors’ games so far this season.

The 27-year-old Poeltl is averaging 4.6 points and 5.8 rebounds through five games this season.

The 7-foot centre only appeared in 46 games last year due to back issues. He averaged 10.7 points and 7.0 rebounds last season when he was in the lineup.

Kawhi Leonard (left knee) and Nate Bittle (foot) remain on the injured reserve while Malachi Smith (two-way) will not play.
