Rui Hachimura is staying in L.A., but he’s trading in his uniform.

ESPN’s Shams Charania reports the former Los Angeles Lakers forward is signing a two-year deal with the Los Angeles Clippers worth $28 million.

The 28-year-old Gonzaga product spent the past four seasons with the Lakers. He appeared in 68 games last year, averaging 11.5 points on .514 shooting with 3.3 boards over 28.3 minutes a night. The 68 games played matched a career-high for the Toyama, Japan native.

Originally taken with the ninth overall pick of the 2019 NBA Draft, Hachimura spent the first three-plus seasons of his career with the Washington Wizards. He was traded to the Lakers in January of 2023 as part of a deal that saw Kendrick Nunn head to DC.

In 405 games across seven NBA seasons, Hachimura has averaged 12.6 points on .499 shooting, 4.6 boards and 1.2 assists over 27.8 minutes a night.
