The Denver Nuggets and Canadian star Jamal Murray are working toward a four-year, $209 million contract extension, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.

In 59 regular season games last season, Murray averaged 21.2 points, 6.5 assists and 4.1 rebounds for the Nuggets. In the playoffs, the guard averaged 19.3 points, 5.8 assists and 4.5 rebounds through 11 contests.

The 6-foot-4 guard helped lead the Nuggets to their first NBA Championship in 2023, averaging 26.1 points, 7.1 assists, and 5.7 rebounds in their 20-game playoff run.

Drafted seventh overall by the Nuggets in 2016, Murray has averaged 17.5 points, 4.5 assists, and 3.7 rebounds in his eight-season career.

The Kitchener, Ont., native helped Canada to a silver medal at the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto and is expected to represent his country once again at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.
