Report: Mississippi State star QB Taylor’s status vs. LSU uncertain

Published:

No. 16 Mississippi State star quarterback Kamario Taylor's status for Saturday's game at No. 22 LSU is in flux, sources told ESPN's Pete Thamel on Monday.

A decision on whether he'll play will be made later in the week, sources said.

Taylor is dealing with a foot injury he initially suffered in a 31-24 win over Missouri on Sept. 27. He headed to the locker room early in the fourth quarter of Saturday's 56-23 loss to Alabama after playing through obvious discomfort.

He was replaced in that game by freshman backup quarterback Parker Puckett.

Taylor, who had been playing like a Heisman Trophy contender entering last weekend, has been limited in practice since the loss to Alabama, sources told Thamel.

Mississippi State coach Jeff Lebby said at his news conference Monday that the SEC availability report Wednesday would provide an update on Taylor.
