Van Lith, 21, spent the past three seasons at Louisville and had entered the transfer portal earlier this month.
A native of Wenatchee, WA, Van Lith had been heavily recruited by Mulkey, then at Baylor, before committing to the Cardinals.
Van Lith was a First-Team All-ACC selection for the second consecutive season. In 37 games this past season, Van Lith averaged 19.7 points on .411 shooting, 4.5 boards and 3.2 assists over 36.9 minutes a night.
The Tigers are expecting many of their key contributors to return next season, led by Angel Reese and Flau'jae Johnson.
