Louisiana State's defence of their national title will be aided by a potent new weapon.

Hailey Van Lith has committed to Kim Mulkey's team for her senior year, the guard announced on Instagram.

Van Lith, 21, spent the past three seasons at Louisville and had entered the transfer portal earlier this month.

A native of  Wenatchee, WA, Van Lith had been heavily recruited by Mulkey, then at Baylor, before committing to the Cardinals.

Van Lith was a First-Team All-ACC selection for the second consecutive season. In 37 games this past season, Van Lith averaged 19.7 points on .411 shooting, 4.5 boards and 3.2 assists over 36.9 minutes a night.

The Tigers are expecting many of their key contributors to return next season, led by Angel Reese and Flau'jae Johnson.
