The Philadelphia Eagles have backed up the truck for Jalen Carter.
The agents for the defensive tackle tell ESPN’s Adam Schefter that their client has agreed to a four-year extension that pays him $152 million.
The contract comes with $106 million guaranteed and could go up to a total of $160 million. Carter becomes the highest-paid DT in NFL history.
A native of Apopka, FL, Carter was originally selected with the ninth overall pick of the 2023 NFL Draft out of Georgia where he won National Championships in 2021 and 2022.
A two-time Pro Bowler, Carter has appeared in 43 games across three seasons, recording 108 tackles, 13.5 sacks and four forced fumbles.
The deal for Carter eclipses the three-year, $105.8 million extension signed by Jeffrey Simmons with the Tennessee Titans last month.
