Nick Chubb is ending things where they began.
The four-time Pro Bowl running back will sign a one-day contract to retire as a member of the Cleveland Browns, the team announced on Thursday.
A press conference is set for Friday.
Chubb, 30, spent the first seven years of his career with the Browns, who originally selected him with the 35th overall pick of the 2018 NFL Draft out of Georgia. He would go on to appear in 85 games for the team, recording 6,843 yards on 1,340 carries and 51 touchdowns. He’s the third-leading rusher in team history.
The trajectory of Chubb’s career changed dramatically during Week 2 of the 2023 season. He incurred a gruesome injury against the Pittsburgh Steelers, tearing his MCL and badly damaging his ACL. It would keep him out of action for a full year. Chubb returned to the Browns lineup in time for Week 7 of the 2024 season. He would appear in eight games that year, his final campaign with the Browns.
Chubb signed as a free agent with the Houston Texans ahead of the 2025 season. The Cedartown, GA native would go on to appear in 15 games for the team. Chubb recorded 506 yards on 122 carries and three TDs.
He finishes his career with 7,349 rushing yards and 54 TDs in 100 games.
