The New York Giants and cornerback Greg Newsome II have reached agreement on a three-year, $46 million extension, his agent, Erik Burkhardt of Roc Nation Sports, told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

The deal comes halfway through Newsome's first season with the Giants and includes $32 million in guaranteed money.

A first-round pick of the Cleveland Browns in 2021, he was traded to the Jacksonville Jaguars last October before signing a one-year deal this past offseason with the Giants.

Newsome, 26, has 17 tackles, six passes defended and one interception this season for a New York team that, at 4-2-1, sits atop the NFC East standings.
