Kirk Cousins – Las Vegas Raiders vs. New England Patriots – 1pm ET

The success of the Las Vegas Raiders has been one of the early surprises of the 2026 NFL season and a big reason for their hot start has been veteran quarterback Kirk Cousins.
After winning their first three games, the Raiders were finally stopped last week by the Kansas City Chiefs.
Still, at 3-1 they take one of the league’s best records into their matchup with the New England Patriots as they aim to continue their build towards a playoff position.
Cousins, a veteran in his 15th season and on his fourth team, enters Week 5 tied at the top of the passing touchdown list with 11 on the campaign.
There was no guarantee that Cousins would even still be the Raiders starting quarterback when they made this trip to Foxborough, with No. 1 overall pick QB Fernando Mendoza waiting in the wings for his shot under centre.
Cousins was named the starter heading into the season ahead of the Heisman Trophy winner, who was also coming off leading the Indiana Hoosiers to an undefeated National Championship.
The 38-year-old did not waste any time making his mark in Sin City, throwing three touchdowns in each of his first three games to earn victories over the Miami Dolphins, Los Angeles Chargers and New Orleans Saints.
He added two more TDs to his tally in last week’s 30-27 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.
Cousins has already surpassed the 10 touchdowns he threw in 10 games last season with the Falcons and will earn himself the opportunity to throw many more if he continues to produce and win for the Raiders.

Brock Purdy – San Francisco 49ers vs. Seattle Seahawks - 4:25pm ET

The hot start of the San Francisco 49ers might not be as surprising as the Raiders, but that does not make the play of quarterback Brock Purdy any less impressive.
Purdy enters play in Week 5 as the other QB tied at the top of the passing TD list with 11 majors as he leads the undefeated 49ers into their marquee divisional matchup with the Seattle Seahawks.
The 26-year-old also leads the league in both passer rating at 126.2 and in QBR at 89.6 as he has opened the season playing as well as anyone at the game’s most important position.
In fact, his early season success has got his name among the early MVP favourites according to FanDuel where he has the second shortest odds to capture the coveted award, behind only Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen.
Purdy’s high-water mark so far in 2026 was a four-touchdown game to lead the 49ers to a 36-30 victory over the Arizona Cardinals in Week 3.
He also threw three touchdowns to beat the Los Angeles Rams in Week 1 in Australia and has posted a pair of two-touchdown outings to top the Miami Dolphins in Week 2 and the Denver Broncos in Week 4.
Purdy has thrown four touchdowns to tight end George Kittle this season, with three going to Deebo Samuel, who rejoined the team in 2026 after a year with the Washington Commanders.
The Arizona native is already more than halfway to the 20 TD total he has reached in each of the last two seasons. His career high is 31, which he posted in 2023, his first full year as a starting QB.
