Minter, 42, previously spent four seasons with the Ravens from 2017 to 2020 on John Harbaugh’s staff.
Harbaugh was fired by the Ravens after 18 seasons earlier this month.
“I am truly honoured to serve as the head coach of the Baltimore Ravens,” Minter said in a statement. “This is an organization whose values, culture and tradition of excellence reflect everything I believe about the game of football and how it should be played.”
A native of Little Rock, AR, Minter spent the past two seasons with the Chargers. After leaving the Ravens after the 2020 season, he spent one season with Vanderbilt as DC before joining Jim Harbaugh at Michigan in the same role in 2023. Minter joined Harbaugh with the Chargers when he moved back from the college game to the NFL.
Minter was set to have a second interview for the Cleveland Browns’ head coaching vacancy earlier on Thursday, but chose to remove himself from consideration for the role.
Minter’s father, Rick Minter, spent 10 seasons as head coach of Cincinnati, leading the Bearcats to a Conference USA title in 2002.
