The Baltimore Ravens brought in a 12-year veteran on Thursday for a workout.
According to the NFL’s transaction wire, the team took a look at wide receiver Brandin Cooks.
Cooks, who turns 33 next week, split last season between the Buffalo Bills and New Orleans Saints. He appeared in a combined 15 games and hauled in 24 receptions for 279 yards.
A native of Stockton, CA, Cooks was originally taken with the 20th overall selection of the 2014 NFL Draft by the Saints out of Oregon State. He went on to suit up in 173 career games, also spending time with the New England Patriots, Los Angeles Rams, Houston Texans and Dallas Cowboys. He reached the 1,000-yard mark in six seasons.
For his career, Cooks has recorded 734 receptions for 9,811 yards and 60 touchdowns.
The Ravens are looking for some help in their receiving corps after a wrist injury to rookie Ja’Kobi Lane that will require surgery. Star receiver Zay Flowers has not practiced this week after incurring a hamstring injury during the team’s 41-23 victory over the Indianapolis Colts in Week 1.
The Ravens return to action on Sunday with a visit from the Saints (0-1).
