Philadelphia Eagles running back Will Shipley suffered a partial tear of his plantar fascia during Sunday's loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars that now could sideline him multiple weeks, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter on Monday.

The Eagles' injuries at the running back position are mounting with starter Saquon Barkley dealing with a hamstring injury and primary backup Tank Bigsby on injured reserve after undergoing core muscle surgery.

With Barkley and Bigsby sidelined, Shipley got the start in London on Sunday. He scored his first career touchdown before exiting late in the first quarter.

After Shipley's injury, Dameon Pierce took over the primary running back responsibilities, with Carson Steele backing him up.

The Eagles rushed for only 22 yards on 18 attempts (1.2 yards per carry) in their 19-17 loss to Jacksonville. Pierce led the team with 14 yards on 11 attempts, Shipley had 6 yards on five attempts and quarterback Jalen Hurts gained two yards on two attempts.

The Eagles (2-3) host the Carolina Panthers (2-2) in Week 6.

ESPN's Tim McManus contributed to this report.
