Odell Beckham Jr.’s reunion with the New York Giants is over. ESPN’s Mike Garafolo and Ian Rapoport report the team is releasing the veteran wide receiver after three games.
Beckham, 33, had been sparsely used in the Giants offence. He had been targeted just once over the three games. He leaves without recording a reception.
Originally taken with the 12th overall selection of the 2014 NFL Draft out of LSU, Beckham suited up for the Giants in his first six seasons before a trade to the Cleveland Browns. He appeared in 62 games for the team, recording 390 receptions for 5,476 yards and 44 touchdowns. The Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2014, Beckham was named to three Pro Bowls with the Giants.
While the New Orleans native won a Super Bowl with the Los Angeles Rams in 2022, his last seasons have been ravaged by a variety of injuries. Since his trade to the Browns, Beckham has appeared in a combined 60 games across the past eight years. Beckham also had brief stints with the Miami Dolphins and Baltimore Ravens. His last touchdown came in 2023.
