“This is it,” Rodgers said.
Rodgers returned to the Pittsburgh Steelers on a one-year deal last week and has been on the field this week as part of OTA workouts.
A native of Chico, CA, Rodgers appeared in 16 games last season, his first with the team. He threw for 3,322 yards on 327-for-498 passing with 24 touchdowns and seven interceptions.
A product of Cal, Rodger spent the first 18 seasons of his career with the Green Bay Packers with whom he won four Most Valuable Player awards and Super Bowl XLV. He now reunites with head coach Mike McCarthy, who succeeds the departed Mike Tomlin. Rodgers and McCarthy worked together for 13 seasons with the Packers.
It was the arrival of McCarthy that spurred Rodgers to return to the Packers.
“I thought that was probably it for me in Pittsburgh,” Rodgers said of Tomlin’s departure. “But when the decision was made to hire Mike, I started opening my mind back up to coming back.”
The Steelers open up their 2026 preseason schedule on Aug. 13 with a visit from the Packers. Their regular season gets underway on Sept. 13 at home to the Atlanta Falcons.
