Columbus Blue Jackets defenceman Carson Soucy and Ottawa Senators defenceman Cameron Crotty were both placed on waivers on Wednesday.
Soucy, 32, has one assist over seven games with the Blue Jackets this season, his first in Columbus.
The native of Viking, Alta., signed a one-year, $1.15 million contract with the Blue Jackets ahead of the 2026-27 season following a professional tryout with the club during September’s training camp.
Selected in the fifth-round of the 2013 NHL Draft, Soucy has produced 32 goals and 68 assists over 448 career games with the Wild, Seattle Kraken, Vancouver Canucks, New York Rangers, New York Islanders and Blue Jackets.
He has two goals and five assists over 38 career playoff games.
Sens’ Crotty also on waivers
Crotty, a 27-year-old from Ottawa, has played three games with the Senators this season and hasn’t recorded a point.
Crotty is in the final year of a two-year deal, featuring an $812,500 average annual value.
Selected by the Arizona Coyotes in the third-round of the 2017 NHL Draft, Crotty has one assist over 11 career games with the Coyotes, Minnesota Wild and Senators.
