The St. Louis Blues placed defenceman Marc-Andre Gaudet on waivers on Saturday.

Gaudet, 22, registered five goals and 20 points in 53 games with the Springfield Thunderbirds in his first full season in the AHL last year.

The 6-foot-3, left-shot blueliner was drafted 152nd overall in the 2022 draft and also appeared with the ECHL’s Orlando Solar Bears and Florida Everblades in the last three seasons.

The Moncton, N.B., native was drafted out of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, last appearing for the Chicoutimi Sagueneens and Sherbrooke Phoenix where he recorded 15 goals and 61 points in 66 games.

St. Louis finished fifth in the Central Division last season with a 37-33-12 record, four points behind the Los Angeles Kings for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference.

The Blue open the pre-season against the Dallas Stars on Saturday and begin the regular season on Oct. 2 against the same Stars team.
