Blues sign F Toropchenko to two-year extension

The St. Louis Blues have signed forward Alexey Toropchenko to a two-year, $5 million contract extension, the team announced Monday.

The deal carries an average annual value of $2.5 million.

The 26-year-old winger has two goals and five points so far this season in 27 games while playing 12:22 a night.

This is his fifth season in St. Louis at the NHL level since being selected in the fourth round of the 2017 NHL Draft.

A native of Moscow, Toropchenko has 32 goals and 65 points in 286 career NHL regular season games. He has also played in 19 Stanley Cup Playoff games, tallying two goals and six points with a plus-9 rating.
