The Boston Bruins have signed forward Fraser Minten to a seven-year, $50.4 million contract extension.
The deal carries an average annual value of $7.2 million for Minten, who had 17 goals and 35 points in 82 games last season.
“We are excited to have signed Fraser to a long-term extension,” Bruins general manager Don Sweeney said. “Since joining our organization, Fraser has continued to grow and earn the accelerated trust of his teammates and coaching staff. His hockey sense, competitiveness, responsible two-way game, and offensive growth make him a valuable player for our group.
“This is a mutual long-term commitment that reflects our confidence in Fraser and the important role he will play, as well as Fraser’s belief in our team moving forward.”
The Bruins acquired Minten, along first- and fourth-round draft picks, from the Toronto Maple Leafs in exchange for Brandon Carlo at the 2025 trade deadline.
The 22-year-old centre was selected by the Maple Leafs in the second round of the 2022 draft. He will spend this season playing out the last of his three-year, entry-level contract.
Minten has 20 goals and 40 points in 107 career games with the Maple Leafs and Bruins.
The Bruins now have 11 players signed through at least 2029-30 including forwards David Pastrnak, Elias Lindholm, J.J. Peterka, Morgan Geekie, Tanner Jeannot and Minten. Defencemen Charlie McAvoy, Hampus Lindholm, Nikita Zadorov and William Borgen are all signed through 2029-30. Goaltender Jeremy Swayman carries a cap hit of $8.25 million through 2030-31.
Forwards Pavel Zacha and Casey Mittelstadt headline the pending unrestricted free agents on the Bruins roster.
