The Boston Bruins have traded goaltender Joonas Korpisalo to the New York Rangers in exchange for forward Kalle Vaisanen and a 2028 fourth-round pick.
Korpisalo skated in 31 games for the Bruins last season, going 14-9-6 with an .894 save percentage and 3.15 goals-against average.
The 32-year-old has appeared in 334 career NHL games split between the Columbus Blue Jackets, Los Angeles Kings, Ottawa Senators and Bruins.
He is heading into the fourth season of a five-year, $20 million contract with an AAV of $4 million.
Vaisanen, 23, skated in 51 games last season with the AHL’s Hartford Wolf Pack, scoring three goals with one assist.
He was a fourth-round pick (106th overall) by New York in 2021.
