The Montreal Canadiens recalled goaltender Jacob Fowler, defenceman Adam Engstrom, and forward Owen Beck from the AHL’s Laval Rocket.

Fowler, 21, is the top goaltending prospect in the organization and has compiled a 10-5-0 record with a .919 save percentage and 2.08 goals-against average in 15 games with the Rocket this season, his first full campaign in the AHL.

He was originally selected 69th overall by the team in the 2023 NHL Draft.

Engstrom, 22, will join the big club for the second time this season. He did not record a point in his first two NHL games against the Utah Mammoth and Colorado Avalanche at the end of November.

The Jarna, Sweden native has five goals and 11 assists in 20 games with the Rocket in 2025-26. He was drafted 92nd overall by the club in the 2022 NHL Draft.

Beck, 21, has the most NHL experience among the three callups, as he has played 14 games with the Canadiens over the past two seasons, including two earlier this year.

The Port Hope, Ont., native was drafted 33rd overall by the Habs in the 2022 NHL Draft.

The moves were announced shortly after the Canadiens lost 6-1 to the Tampa Bay Lightning, their second consecutive loss on home ice.

Montreal next plays against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Thursday before a weekend back-to-back against the New York Rangers and Edmonton Oilers.
