New Jersey Devils star centre Jack Hughes will be sidelined for approximately eight weeks after undergoing surgery on his finger.

“New Jersey Devils C Jack Hughes underwent successful surgery on his finger.
The procedure was performed by Dr. Robert Hotchkiss at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City.

The surgery was performed in New York and Hughes will be re-evaluated in six weeks.
Hughes, 24, suffered the non-hockey hand injury while at a team dinner Thursday night.
The American has had a great start for the 12-4-1 Metropolitan Division-leading Devils, piling in 10 goals and 20 points in 17 games.
In 385 career games, the former first overall pick has put up 151 goals and 371 points since he made his debut during the 2019-2020 season.
